| | |  Learn to create a variety of Glass Beads in this workshop, using the lampworking technique. Each student will be assigned a Minor Bench Burner Torch System, and all materials will be provided. Specifc techniques demonstrated will include raking, feathering, layering and encasing, mixing colors, and pulling stringers. In addition, information on setting up your own studio will be offerred. All classes are held at Marj's new lightfilled sea side studio in Scituate Harbor Ma. May I suggest you dress in layers - I prefer close fitting cotton clothing. Plan to tie back your hair. Learn how to make really cool sea glass & beach stone jewelry with your own collection of treasures! Students will learn how to drill glass, silver wire wrapping techniques, proper use of pliers & drills, filing, cleaning and polishing designs. Marj, a nationally known glass artist & jewelry designer, will share some of her amazing design tips and tricks. Students may make earrings, necklaces, pendants, bracelets or anything else their creative hands wish to try. Workshops hours are 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The cost for 2 Day Workshops is $295.00. Cost includes all fees and materials. Make-a-Knob and Make-a-Finial kits may be purchased separately at a discounted price for students. A deposit of $150.00 or full payment must be received to reserve a class seat. Final payment must be received before workshop date. Please note in the many many years I have taught glass beadmaking workshops the cost for workshops has never increased. Throughout the years I have incurred several increases for the cost of supplies, especially the cost for fuels and administration fees. Cancellation refund policy: A full refund will be offered if class is cancelled by Marj Bates Studio.
